In Loving Memory of Ed Kennedy

Updated: Mar 17

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ed Kennedy, a truly remarkable individual who touched the lives of many with his generous heart-led ways. Ed was a beloved member of the Slow Food Denver family, known for his boundless energy and passion for making the world a better place. As a jack of all trades, he brought joy and inspiration to everyone he met.

Ed played a pivotal role in our Seed to Plate program, where he ignited a love for gardening and sustainable eating in children. His enthusiasm for food, its origins, and its cultivation was infectious, and he changed the lives of all he touched through his teachings. Children adored him, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

In 2020, Ed joined our Board of Directors, where he led with creativity and deep knowledge of food justice and farming. His unwavering support for Slow Food Denver over the years has been invaluable, and we are committed to honoring his memory by continuing the work he was so passionate about.

Just as he gave his all to the Slow Food Denver community, through his work at HayCamp, Ed was committed to healing the land and cultivating the soil into a regenerative farm. Not only did he welcome bees, plants, pollinators, and microbes, but he gathered his friends and loved ones into the fold to celebrate the beauty and abundance of the ecosystem.

In lieu of flowers, Ed's family kindly requests that donations be made to Slow Food Denver, ensuring that his vision and dedication to sustainable food practices live on. Please make donations in Ed's name here.

Thank you, Ed, for your years of friendship, support, and inspiration. You are deeply missed, but your spirit will forever be a guiding light in our community.
