Originally from New York, Bobby was lucky to be surrounded by diverse food cultures and experience them from a young age. Every week, his mother would take a trip to the historic Author Avenue in the Bronx to gather ingredients for her “Sunday Sauce”. Throughout the day, Bobby would make numerous pitstops to the simmering pot, ripping a crusty chunk of Italian bread from the loaf, and dunking it into the the flavorful tomato sauce. His mom is his biggest inspiration in food, cooking creatively with healthy and fresh ingredients. When Bobby call his mom as an adult these days, the conversation is 99% about food.
Of course pizza was a staple of Bobby’s childhood growing up in NY, but he says he never expected it to be such a big part of his life and career. The transition began when his good friend Sean invited him over to make some homemade pizza. Sean made the dough and Bobby made the sauce, soon becoming a weekly tradition. As the custom continued, Bobby eventually ordered his own little pizza oven, and with that Allora Pizza Co. was born. Everyone loves pizza and he wanted to share his Neapolitan-inspired version of it with more people.
Food has a very social element – This is what Bobby strives for with Allora – Keeping the small business focused on sharing the joy of making and eating delicious pizza.
