Indigenous Cooking Class with Andrea Condes
About the event
Chef Andrea, a renowned Indigenous chef, will guide us through the flavors, history, and sovereignty of native foods. This session is a beautiful opportunity to explore healthy food systems and preserve cultural knowledge through the universal language of food.
On the Menu:
Trout Steamed in Corn Husk
Dandelion Pesto
Fresh Corn Pico
As we cook, we’ll dive into the "cultural etymology" of these ancestral ingredients, tracing the roots of what we eat to reclaim traditional foodways. In addition this event honors, National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives (MMIWR) held on May 5th.
