Meet The Team

Sophie Tate

Grant Writing & Fundraising Intern

I am a recent European Union Erasmus Mundus graduate from the University of Sheffield and EHESP, with a dual Master’s degree in Public Health and Environmental Health. In my work with the team at Slow Food Denver, I will apply my European studies and my studies in Economics at Skidmore College to the mission of creating more just, sustainable, and healthy food systems in our community. I love working on events, grants, and logistics that contribute to the good health of all people. I have been passionate about eating, food, cooking, and all the ways of sharing food from an early age, and I love the full human communion inherent to these pursuits in both pleasure and work.

I am not only prepared to engage in the uphill climb towards greater public health, I am also an avid rock climber inside gyms and outdoors. I am thrilled to bring my experience in grant writing and events coordination, my experience in cities around the world, my bold approach to a sheer rock face, and my academic background to work with Slow Food Denver — where I also have much to learn!
