Meet The Team

Sarah Hutcherson

I am on the Slow Food Denver board because if every child, teenager, and adult could harvest, grow, and play in the dirt, we would have a lot more joy.

I hold this belief because I grew up in Upstate New York, where I was fortunate enough to grow up running around in fields and picking veggies from the ground at an early age. Those small moments shaped my love for and obsession with food. From leading a science project in 8th grade to understand the differences between organic and conventional foods to volunteering on an Italian vineyard to learn the ins-and-outs of winemaking after college, I find my fondest memories are tied with the harvesting and production of food.

Since moving to Denver in 2013, I’ve volunteered with Slow Food Denver in a myriad of ways. From launching the Slow Planet app that highlighted sustainable local restaurants to helping out at farmers’ markets and Eat Local Challenges, I’ve been able to share my love for delicious food with the Denver Community. I joined the Slow Food Denver board in 2019 and look forward to continuing to grow a more robust, values-driven food system along the Front Range.
