Meet The Team

Ed Kennedy

I learned the value of gardening at an early age. Raising a garden, keeping an orchard, foraging… these were not hobbies, but a way of life that made surviving the harsh Montana winters of my childhood, just a little more bearable. Like most kids raised in the dirt, by the time I went to college, I was searching for new experiences and opportunities. Some paid off, and some played out, but I always seemed to find myself back in the garden again.  Today, as an urban farmer, coach and steward, I know firsthand just how disconnected and isolated we have become in our relationship to the food chain, the soil, our community and ourselves.

My introduction to Slow Food Denver came through one of their many community events.  What started out as a fun way to connect with like-minded people, transitioned  into my role as an instructor for the Cooking from the Garden program. Currently, I am honored to play a more supportive role by serving on the Board and “lending a hand” when needed.
