Denver-area CSAs and Farmers Markets
CSAs: One of the easiest ways to buy directly from farmers and ranchers is through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. A CSA is a relationship between farmers/ranchers and community members who pay annual membership fees to help cover the production costs of the farm or ranch. In return for being a member, you receive a box or bag full of seasonal and fresh food periodically for as long as the food is being harvested. It is a cost saving and interesting way to participate in the bountiful harvest going on each week at a farm or ranch in Colorado.

Farmers Markets: Another way to buy directly from farmers and ranchers is to shop at a farmers market. The Denver area farmers markets offer a dazzling variety of locally-grown vegetables as well as an increasing variety of grass-fed meat, organic eggs, and mushrooms. There also are a growing number of locally hand crafted artisan food products available at our local farmers markets—baked goods, jellies and jams, cheese, and honey. The farmers markets are the epicenter of a national trend of people seeking out the very best foods for themselves and their families.
