Slow Food Denver creates impactful programs for adults and kids alike in addition to supporting the great work being done in and around our local community. From short educational series to long-term projects, we are always in pursuit of creating a more just and sustainable food system.

Cooking From the Garden

An after-school enrichment program offering seasonal cooking classes based on the full cycle of planting, maintaining, harvesting, and preparing ingredients from the school’s garden.

Fresh Food Access

A partnership with Grow Local Colorado to maintain local vegetable gardens and donate the harvest to our community food banks and pantries.

Community Workshops & Panel Talks

Connecting like-minded people and building a strong food community through idea sharing and educational topic exploration.

Lil’ Sprouts Online Cooking Classes

Our Virtual Solution to Cooking From the Garden! Seasonal youth cooking classes for students to navigate their own kitchen, broaden their tastes, and gain confidence in preparing meals for themselves and their family.

Garden to Cafeteria

An opportunity for students to grow fresh fruits and vegetables in their school gardens with the aim of supplying some of what they harvest to their cafeteria for lunch.

Youth Farm Stands

A partnership with Denver Urban Gardens to support local schools in hosting their own farm stand, on school grounds, using fresh produce from school gardens and local farms.
